Frontier Airlines Brings Low Fares to Burlington International Airport

New Low-Cost Nonstop Flights to Orlando

BURLINGTON, Vt. – Low-cost carrier, Frontier Airlines announced the addition of new low-fare, non-stop flights from Burlington International Airport (BTV) with service to Orlando International Airport (MCO). The new flights were announced today at an event with airport and airline officials. Vermont is the 44th state to be served by Frontier. Service begins in February 2019 and to celebrate these flights, Frontier is offering a special, introductory one-way fare of $59 which is available now on flyfrontier.com.

“We are proud to bring our unique brand of Low Fares Done Right to Burlington,” said Jonathan Freed, Director of Corporate Communications for Frontier Airlines. “Frontier’s new flights to Orlando will make air travel more accessible and affordable for the Lake Champlain Region and the Montreal area. We look forward to making it easier for people to fly, and for people to fly more often.”

Frontier is focused on more than low fares. The carrier offers customers the ability to customize travel to their needs and budget. For example, customers can purchase options a la carte or in one low-priced bundle called the WORKSsm. This bundle includes refundability, a carry-on bag, a checked bag, the best available seat, waived change fees and priority boarding.

“Congratulations to the City’s Airport team on continuing to provide highly sought-after service for Burlingtonians, and the local region,” said Mayor Miro Weinberger. “The Airport has served more passengers so far this year than at any time in the last decade, and with new direct flights from Burlington, the Airport is even better positioned to welcome visitors to our region and to support Vermonters traveling south. I am excited by this opportunity to welcome Frontier to BTV, and look forward to building and enhancing our partnership."

“We are very thankful to Frontier for this air service opportunity and their wonderful partnership,” said Gene Richards, Director of Aviation, Burlington International Airport. “This service will complement the already amazing destinations you can fly to/from BTV. Not only is this a tremendous opportunity for the Airport, but for the entire region.”

Governor Phil Scott said Vermont is excited to welcome Frontier to Burlington International Airport. “It’s important to note that Frontier’s decision to serve BTV makes it easier, and more affordable, for people in Florida to fly to Vermont,” he added. “As a state, we have one of the strongest brands in the country. We are known internationally for our top-notch resorts, beautiful mountains, quaint villages, vibrant downtowns, and world-class specialty food and craft beer. But what really sets us apart is our people. It is the authenticity and character of Vermonters that make people want to come here. Frontier’s service allows more Americans easy access to everything Vermont offers, and we are grateful to them for embracing this opportunity and look forward to building on this partnership.”

The airline’s reimagined frequent flier program, FRONTIER Miles lets members enjoy many benefits as well as attain Elite status. Like the airline, FRONTIER Miles is family friendly and the new program makes it easy for families to enjoy the rewards together, including family pooling of miles. FRONTIER Miles is aptly named, because you earn one mile for every mile flown – no funny formulas at Frontier. If a customer travels a little or a lot, they will find FRONTIER Miles rewarding.

Frontier flies one of the youngest fleets in the industry, the Airbus A320 Family of nearly 80 jet aircraft. With nearly 200 new planes on order, Frontier will continue to grow to deliver on the mission of providing affordable travel across America. Frontier’s young fleet also ensures that the company will continue to keep fares low and that customers will enjoy a pleasant and reliable experience flying with the airline.
