Frontier Airlines is Celebrating Earth Week by Offering Free Flights to People with the Last Name Green

Plus, a 40 Percent Off* Fare Sale with Promo Code GOGREEN

DENVER – APRIL 19, 2021 – To celebrate Earth Week, America’s Greenest Airline is inviting people with the last name Green (or Greene) to fly free this spring. And, if your last name isn’t Green, don’t worry, you can still participate -- Frontier will be also, giving away 50 free flights daily from among everyone who enters between now and the end of Earth Week, this Friday, April 23, 2021. The airline is also offering a 40% off* fare sale to celebrate Earth Week for tickets purchased on flyfrontier.com using the promo code GOGREEN.

The first 750 people with the last name Green (or Greene) who complete the entry form located at www.flygreener.com beginning today, can fly for free on Frontier Airlines (following confirmation of eligibility) via a flight voucher valued at $250 valid for domestic travel within the continental U.S. through May 26, 2021. Those not named Green or Greene, can enter via the same form, and a daily drawing will be held providing a free flight (also via a $250 flight voucher) for 50 winners each day randomly drawn from among all entrants, today through Friday, April 23, 2021. The flight voucher is valid for the same time period stated above. Full rules can be viewed here.

“As America’s Greenest Airline, what better way to celebrate Earth Week than to have some fun with the word ‘green’ and invite those named Green(e) to fly free with us this spring,” said Tyri Squyres, vice president of marketing, Frontier Airlines. “We work each and every day to maximize fuel savings which reduces our environmental impact and makes us the most fuel-efficient airline in the U.S. We think that’s something to celebrate as we honor Mother Earth during this annual Earth Week observation,” Squyres added.

Frontier has the largest A320neo fleet in the U.S. The use of these aircraft, Frontier’s seating configuration, weight-saving tactics and baggage process have all contributed to the airline’s average of 43 percent fuel savings compared to other U.S. airlines (fuel savings is based on Frontier Airlines’ 2019 fuel consumption per seat-mile compared to the weighted average of major U.S. airlines), which makes Frontier the most fuel-efficient U.S. airline.

Frontier recently launched its first aircraft featuring new lighter-weight Recaro seats, a design that will result in a 30 percent weight reduction over existing seats. On an average A321 aircraft, the fuel savings provided by the new design equates to 31,683 gallons per year.

Frontier also continues its focus on highlighting endangered species on its plane tails. Frontier’s plane tails are unique in the airline industry, each with its own name and special backstory. Many of the animals are from endangered species, part of the airline’s push to highlight the importance of species preservation. A webpage featuring each of Frontier’s unique plan tails can be viewed here.

“At Frontier, we strive to honor our planet through truly meaningful actions that generate awareness and reduce our environmental footprint and we are proud to invite consumers to help us celebrate during Earth Week,” said Squyres. “We know people have a choice when flying and they can fly greener with Frontier.”
