Frontier Names Gary Appling Vice President Technical Operations

Frontier Airlines today announced the appointment of Gary Appling as vice president, technical operations. In this position, Appling will oversee the carrier’s maintenance, repair and overhaul operation and will report directly to Bill Meehan, chief operating officer.

“In our commitment to run a dependable, reliable and safe airline, we are pleased to welcome Gary to our team,” Meehan said. “With Gary’s industry experience, we will continue to build one of the strongest leadership teams in the industry, and only continue to improve operationally.”

With more than 30 years of aviation experience, Appling brings a diverse background of technical operations, maintenance and purchasing. Most recently, Appling held a position with Mesa Air Group as senior vice president, maintenance and engineering.

Appling began his career with the United States Air Force as a jet engine technician and customer service agent. Since then he has held various positions in many areas of technical operation with various aviation companies including Mesa Air Group, Continental Airlines and Airborne Express.
