"With our low-fare flights, Frontier brings a unique, high-value service to the community, saving customers time and money, and we look forward to becoming a bigger part of the Colorado Springs community going forward."

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Frontier Airlines, the largest low-cost airline serving Colorado Springs, today announced the addition of nonstop service to both Orlando, Fla. (MCO) and San Diego, Calif. (SAN). This brings the number of nonstop destinations served by the Colorado-based carrier from Colorado Springs Airport (COS) to seven.

“Colorado Springs in an important part of Frontier’s network and the response we have seen from customers to the four new routes we start this weekend has led to our announcement of this new low fare service to Orlando and San Diego,” said Daniel Shurz, Frontier’s senior vice president, commercial. “With our low-fare flights, Frontier brings a unique, high-value service to the community, saving customers time and money, and we look forward to becoming a bigger part of the Colorado Springs community going forward.”

The news of the two new nonstop destinations comes on the day that Frontier is celebrating the launch of its new nonstop service from Colorado Springs to Los Angeles, Calif. (LAX), Phoenix, Ariz. (PHX), and Seattle, Wash. (SEA) with nonstop service to Portland, Ore. (PDX) starting this Sunday.

The new nonstop flights enable southern Coloradans to save significant time and avoid connections getting to these top destinations from Colorado Springs. Frontier will operate the new routes with 138-seat Airbus A319 aircraft. Frontier is the only carrier to provide nonstop flights from southern Colorado to Orlando, Phoenix, Portland, San Diego and Seattle, and is the only low-fare carrier with nonstop service to Los Angeles.

“Frontier’s continued commitment to building a focus city in Colorado Springs is great news for everyone in the Pikes Peak region,” said Mark Earle, director of aviation, Colorado Springs Airport. “The initial response to Frontier’s low fares and non-stop service has been tremendous, and we expect that momentum to continue with the addition of service to Orlando and San Diego this fall.”

Frontier is celebrating these new destinations with introductory fares as low as $69* each way, including taxes and fees, to San Diego and as low as $109* each way, including taxes and fees, to Orlando. For the first week of sale these flights are only available on FrontierAirlines.com, where you’ll always find our lowest available fare.

Members of Frontier’s EarlyReturns® frequent flyer program can earn double miles** for every qualifying flight they take on the new routes from Colorado Springs through Nov. 15, 2012, for San Diego and Jan. 5 2013, for Orlando.
