Frontier Airlines Begins Nonstop Flights from Orlando to St. Thomas

Fares as low as $35*

ORLANDO – Feb. 19, 2021 Low-fare carrier Frontier Airlines today launches new, nonstop flights from Orlando International Airport (MCO) to Cyril E. King Airport, St. Thomas, U.S. Virgin Islands (STT). To celebrate this new service, Frontier is offering fares as low as $35*, which are available now at FlyFrontier.com.

Frontier continues to expand at MCO and St. Thomas is the fifth new route the airline has started from the airport in Feb. 2021, the others being Cancun, Miami, Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic and Wilmington, Delaware. Plus, in March 2021, Frontier will begin daily nonstop flights from MCO to Phoenix Sky Harbor International Airport (PHX). In total, the airline is offering 60 nonstop routes via Orlando International Airport in spring 2021, the most of any airline at MCO.

“This new service from Orlando to St. Thomas marks yet another milestone in our growth at Orlando International Airport,” said Barry Biffle, president and CEO, Frontier Airlines. “We have become the number one airline at MCO based on total nonstop routes available and this spring will see the addition of even more great destinations for consumers to choose from.” Biffle added, “We are particularly excited to launch service to St. Thomas today. It is an extraordinary destination on many travelers’ bucket list and our ‘Low Fares Done Right’ approach will enable consumers to fly to the island affordably and conveniently.”

“We’re pleased that Frontier is able to expand their service here at Orlando International while providing Central Floridians more access to a desirable island destination that is easy to visit,” said Phil Brown, Chief Executive Officer, Greater Orlando Aviation Authority. “Since St. Thomas is a U.S. Territory, passengers traveling to Orlando can expect seamless travel from this domestic paradise.”

“We welcome this new service from Orlando to St. Thomas and are grateful for Frontier’s partnership as we continue to prioritize airlift development,” said Joseph Boschulte, Commissioner of Tourism for the U.S. Virgin Islands. “These new flights offer an affordable and customized option for travel to the Territory during and beyond the peak winter season, and help to meet the strong demand from this important market.”

Frontier is focused on more than low fares. The carrier offers customers the ability to customize travel to their needs and budget. For example, customers can purchase options a la carte or in one low-priced bundle called the WORKS. This bundle includes refundability, a carry-on bag, a checked bag, the best available seat, waived change fees, and priority boarding.

The airline’s frequent flyer program, FRONTIER Miles, lets members enjoy many benefits as well as the ability to attain Elite status. Like the airline, FRONTIER Miles is family friendly, and the program makes it easy for families to enjoy the rewards together, including family pooling of miles. FRONTIER Miles is aptly named because you earn one mile for every mile flown – no funny formulas at Frontier. Whether customers travel a little or a lot, they will find FRONTIER Miles rewarding.

The health and safety of customers and team members is Frontier’s number one priority. With that in mind, Frontier introduced sweeping health and safety enhancements in 2020 that touch every step of a customer’s travel journey with the airline.

Frontier requires all customers and crew members wear a face covering throughout their travel journey. Plus, anyone flying with Frontier must complete a health acknowledgement prior to flying confirming that:

  • Neither they nor anyone in their household has exhibited Covid-19 related symptoms in the last 14 days
  • They will wash their hands/sanitize before boarding the flight
  • They understand and acknowledge the airline’s face covering policy and pre-boarding temperature screening policies

During flight, main cabin air is a mix of fresh air drawn from outside and air that has been passed through an air filtration system that features HEPA filters capable of capturing respiratory virus particles at more than 99.9% efficiency – similar to those used in hospital environments. Frontier’s modern all-Airbus fleet is among the youngest in the world - all aircraft currently in operation are less than four years old.
