RALEIGH – March 28, 2023 – Ultra-low fare carrier Frontier Airlines (NASDAQ: ULCC) today announced it will operate its largest-ever number of departures from Raleigh-Durham International Airport (RDU) this summer. Just announced new routes include Frontier’s first-ever flights to Chicago Midway International Airport (MDW) and the first time the carrier has connected RDU to Houston’s George Bush Intercontinental Airport (IAH) since 2019. Service to MDW and IAH will start in June. With these new routes, Frontier will operate a record 112 weekly departures this summer, serving a total of 20 destinations with nonstop service. To celebrate, Raleigh-Durham’s largest ultra-low cost carrier is offering fares as low as $39* on the new Chicago and Houston routes.

“Frontier’s latest expansion at RDU represents the largest investment they have made to the Raleigh-Durham region since they launched service here,” said Michael Landguth, president and CEO of the Raleigh-Durham Airport Authority. “Frontier’s new destinations and additional flight offerings provide Triangle travelers even more options for summer getaways to their favorite destinations.”

Frontier is focused on more than low fares. The carrier offers customers the ability to customize travel to their needs and budget. For example, customers can purchase options a la carte or in one low-priced bundle called the WORKS℠. This bundle includes refundability, a carry-on bag, a checked bag, the best available seat, waived change fees, and priority boarding.

The airline’s frequent flyer program, FRONTIER Miles℠, lets members enjoy many benefits as well as the ability to attain Elite status. Like the airline, FRONTIER Miles is family friendly and the program makes it easy for families to enjoy the rewards together, including family pooling of miles. FRONTIER Miles is aptly named because you earn one mile for every mile flown – no funny formulas at Frontier. Whether customers travel a little or a lot, they will find FRONTIER Miles rewarding.
